As a Taylor Swift fan, the West Village was a must-see on my NYC itinerary. But, upon stepping into the neighborhood lined with red brick buildings, brownstones, and charming mom-and-pop restaurants, I quickly learned why she sang, "You're the West Village, you still do it for me, babe." I fell in love with this side of NYC.
I visited New York in October and I think I struck gold by exploring Tribeca and West Village in the fall. It seems like they were meant to be the filming location of a meet-cute Hallmark movie. Discover the charm of my favorite neighborhoods I stopped in during my recent trip to NYC.
Breakfast: Bubby's

I'm a victim of trending TikTok locations and I'm okay with that, especially after getting a taste of Bubby's in Tribeca. I wish I was being dramatic because it would make my post trip depression easier, but I had the best avocado toast ever at Bubby's. It was savory and refreshing and I will be dreaming about it until further notice. The ambiance of this brunch restaurant was diner-esque, perfect for a cozy fall day. They are known for their fluffy pancakes, and rightfully so. I grabbed some off my boyfriend's plate, and coming from someone who prefers lunch over breakfast, I would eat a whole plate of their pancakes. It's well worth the hype.
Hudson Views: Pier 28
When we tried to walk off our food coma from Bubby's, we saw water glistening in the distance. We stumbled upon Pier 28. It overlooks the Hudson River and gives you a bird's eye view of the Manhattan skyline, as well as New York landmarks, such as Lady Liberty. If I lived here, this is definitely the place I would come to every day. It has lounge chairs, a playground, a winery, and running trails.
Fangirl Destinations: Friends Apartment Building and Cornelia Street
A pleasant 20ish-minute walk from Pier 28, is the Friends apartment building. As someone who receives Friends merch for every holiday because the people in my life know how much I love this show, I was overjoyed to see it in person. It literally is just an apartment building, but it still makes for a great photo.
Swifties, I know you know the significance of Cornelia Street, so I'll spare the lecture. Cornelia Street is a 10ish-minute walk from the apartment building. It really is just the street, but you get to see Taylor Swift's old (I think?) apartment and can dramatically sing the lyrics to "Cornelia Street" as you admire the street.
Book Lovers: Housing Works Bookstore
I think this bookstore is technically in SoHo (listen, I'm from Florida), but it was just a few minutes from Cornelia Street. It's a cozy bookstore with two levels. And yes, it's where Taylor Swift filmed her "All Too Well" short film. Are you sensing a pattern? Put the fangirl in me to the side, it was a charming bookstore that is Instagram-worthy and perfect for a casual day in the West Village.
